野老 朝雄 (ところ・あさお) /美術家 1969年東京生まれ。幼少時より建築を学び、江頭慎に師事。2001年9月11日より「繋げる事」をテーマに紋様の制作を始め、美術、建築、デザインなどの境界領域で活動を続ける。単純な幾何学原理に基づいて定規やコンパスで再現可能な紋と紋様の制作や、同様の原理を応用した立体物の設計/制作も行なっている。主な作品に、東京2020オリンピック・パラリンピックエンブレム、TOKOLO PATTERN MAGNETなど。2016年より東京大学工学部非常勤講師、2018年より東京大学教養学部非常勤講師を務める。 Asao TOKOLO, Artist Asao TOKOLO (1969-) learned architecture since childhood, including an apprenticeship under Shin EGASHIRA. Since September 11, 2001, he has been creating patterns with the concept “to connect.” Many of his patterns are based on simple geometry, which can be reproduced using a compass and a ruler. His work is both two-dimensional and three-dimensional, existing in between fine art, architecture and design. His major works include the lower facade glass pattern for the Dainagoya Building and the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games emblems. He is lecturer at the University of Tokyo Faculty of Engineering.
